The History of Real Life Stories Christian Testimony Books Part 2
Yesterday I shared with you the History of Real Life Stories books and how we will end up printing book number "1 Million" by the end of the year. I received many positive comments and had many people rejoicing and thanking God for this report.
Today I want to share with you the down side, some behind the scenes facts that need to be shared so we can learn from them.
After 3 successful years in partnering with a local church and taking them from a place of 3 % of the people sharing their faith to 50% of the church sharing their faith we hit a wall. A wall that proved to be so big that it could not be overcome and by year 5 the Real Life Stories Christian Testimony book project in that local church was dying.
How could this happen?
Money! Mammon!!
During years 1 thru 3 , Jim and Carla donated the money to pay for all the books as God directed them. In year 4, God spoke very clearly that it was time for the local church to pay for half the cost of printing the books.
It took 2 years for the local church to raise their half of the money and we went with out books for almost 1 year. During this time the fire, excitement, and momentum shifted and the book project slowly died off because of money over the next couple of years.
This may not seem like a big deal to you but listen to this.
One Wednesday night a 16 year old girl showed up for bible study. She said "Today someone left this Real Life Stories book on the porch of my mobile home. I read it! No one had ever told me about God before!" That 16 year old girl got saved that night !!!
That girl was saved because we invested money in the books to bring in the harvest.
We thank God for the Million books printed and lives changed, but at the same time think about the 3 or 4 Million books that could have been printed by now!
It takes money to reach lost souls and we must make investing in the harvest a priority in the local church and each of our lives!
To be continued.....................
Thanks for praying saints! Together we are making an Eternal Kingdom difference!
